Applications
Chrome Free Lignosulphonate additive is intended for use as a deflocculant and fluid loss additive in all types of water‐base systems. These include freshwater, seawater, saturated saltwater, lime and gyp base‐fluids weighted and unweighted polymer / bentonite dispersed systems.
It is applicable in mud systems for deep drilling with bottom hole temperatures exceeding 350 Deg F where it stabilizes the rheology and controls the fluid loss. It is compatible with polymers, starches, shale inhibitors, clays etc where it acts as protective colloid emulsifying agent.
It is stable at temperatures exceeding 350 Deg F and resistant to electrolytes. In deep drilling it can be used in conjunction with causticized lignite in the ratio of 1:3 where they can maintain acceptable mud properties.
Chrome Free Lignosulphonate is a free flowing powder which should be mixed through the hopper at rate of 5‐10 min per sack. In non dispersed systems it can be used at 2-5 ppb, where in dispersed systems it can be used at 8-12 ppb, At high temperature exceeding 325 oF, it is recommended to be used with chrome lignite or causticized lignite at the ratio CL/CFL 1:2, where the pH should be in the range 9.5‐11
Packing
It is packaged in 50-lb (22.7-kg) and 55-lb (25 kg) multi-wall, paper sacks.
